Nose
A combination of Tawny port and a gentle smokiness, with more oak influence than younger, fruitier styles. Coastal smoke with salinity, dried seaweed, and earthy peat.
Palate
A typical Islay arrival with peppery bite, smoky peat, barley, and oak. A slightly fruity, sweet, and syrupy Port flavor chases the whisky.
Finish
Initially leaves the port behind, focusing on barley, oak, and smoke. A touch of sweetness is present, but not overpowering, retaining Islay character.
