Description

Weetwood is a multi-award winning brewery and distillery based in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside near Tarporley. Believed to be Cheshire's first Single Malt Whisky, this is their second whisky release after being a successful beer brewery since 1992. With their love of single malt and many years brewing ales with malted barley, it was a natural step for Weetwood to begin distilling. This special edition of The Cheshire has been finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, imparting flavours of dried fruit and almonds. Just 997 bottles were filled at 46% ABV with its natural colour and without chill-filtration.

Nose
Ripe cherries, amaretto and caramelised walnuts. Dried fruit and dark chocolate. Vibrant, fresh cut grass softened by creamy vanilla and orchard fruits. Fresh flowers and a promise of sweetness. Crunchy apples, blossom honey, cinnamon spice and golden hay.
Palate
Vanilla and honey, crème brûlée. Dates, figs and raisins, like an indulgent Christmas pudding. Creamy malt and sweet, dried fruit. A touch of oak alongside subtle toasted baking spices. Malted milk biscuits, dried apricots, baking spices, butterscotch and honey. Milky tea and biscuits lead on to dried apricots, with woody spice.
Finish
Rich, long and fruity with warming spice and a hint of log fire smoke. Sustained, mellow warmth, ripe fruits and honey with a hint of smoke. Baked apricots and butterscotch. Fruity and sweet.
