Description

West Cork Black Cask is a blended Irish whiskey, comprising 66% grain and 34% malt whiskey. It is triple distilled and non-chill filtered. The whiskey is initially aged for three years in first-fill bourbon casks, followed by a finishing period of one year in heavily double-charred bourbon casks, which imparts enhanced vanilla, sweetness, and oak char notes.

Sweet malt, subtle smoke, orchard fruit, cinnamon, honeycomb, light and delicate, vanilla, chocolate, ginger, spices, dense and chewy, crunchy golden malt, toffee, tinned peaches, barrel char smoke, rich and smooth, big oak, pepper.
Finish
Creamy with chocolate, ripe pear, oak char, short and spicy with residual smoke, long and warming, delightful oak character, medium tannic fade of bing cherries, orchard fruit, nutmeg, bread dough, smooth and toasted marshmallow.
