Description

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by Phillip 'Pip' Hills who, while travelling around Scotland in the 1970s, fell in love with whiskies drawn straight from the cask. After convincing some friends to buy a cask of Glenfarclas he expanded his syndicate and in 2004 the Society was purchased by Glenmorangie PLC. Immediate creaminess with spicy oak, caramel, vanilla, cereal notes, digestive biscuits, orange citrus, eucalyptus, pine resin, grilled pineapple, marshmallow, coconut shavings, and milk chocolate. Florals like juniper, rosehips, buttercups, blood orange juice, blondie biscuits, white chocolate, dried reeds and grasses.

Citrus and spice on arrival, clementine, lime, pepper, fresh nutmeg, vanilla fudge, brown sugar. Oak shavings, rye spice, clove, herbal notes, menthol tang. Orange citrus, mandarin, tangerine, desiccated coconut, toffee, vanillins, dry oak, pencil shavings, wood lacquer.
Finish
Short to medium length with rye spice, oak tannins, sharp citrus, liquid oak juice, freshly sawn wood, and a tannic, dry character.
