Description
Wire Works Whisky from White Peak Distillery is Derbyshire's very first Single Malt. Commissioned in early 2018 with the first distillation taking place in April that year, it wasn't until February 2022 when their first Wire Works Whisky was released. The 'Wire Works' name comes from the sight of the distillery, as it's built on the former Johnson & Nephew wire works on the banks of the river Derwent in the Peak District. This Caduro Cask Strength release is a development on White Peak's core Caduro whisky, matured in a combination of American and French oak, including first-fill ex-bourbon and White Peak's signature STR Casks (re-conditioned wine barriques that have been shaved, toasted and re-charred). It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.0% and is non-chill filtered with natural colour. [cite: Scotch Whisky Auctions description, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 15, 19]
