Description

Founded in 1844 by James Whyte and Charles Mackay in Glasgow, Whyte & Mackay is a Scottish company known for its blended Scotch whiskies. This 'High Strength 105 Proof' expression is a blended Scotch whisky, made up of 41 different malt and grain whiskies. It undergoes a unique triple maturation process, where malt whiskies are aged, then married in sherry casks, and then grain whiskies are added, with the entire blend maturing further in sherry casks. This process aims to create a smoother, richer taste.

Smooth with warm appealing highlights of marzipan, Manuka honey, creamy caramel and Demerara sugar, followed by whispers of glazed pineapple, cider apples and praline chocolate. Also notes of honey, vanilla, dried fruit, raisins, and a faint woody warmth.
Palate
Mellow and exhilarating flavours of tropical fruits, rose hip syrup, caramelized orange segments and macaroons, peaches in syrup, liquorice and Seville marmalade. Also honey sweetness, oak, malt, black pepper, dried fruits, fresh oranges, creamy toffee, and a hint of cinnamon.
Finish
Medium length, with creamy wood, marmalade, oak, and black pepper, and a long finish of fig.
