Description
Founded in 1882 by Charles Mackay and James Whyte, the company's first blended whisky was Whyte & Mackay Special and proved hugely popular in the UK and other English-speaking countries worldwide. Over the years, Whyte & Mackay have either taken over or merged with the owners of several distilleries including Dalmore, Fettercairn and Tomintoul, and later, their own grain distillery; Invergordon. This ceramic decanter is part of the 'Scottish Birds of Prey' series, produced in collaboration with Royal Doulton ceramics, and features a Buzzard. The whisky is a blended Scotch, which undergoes a second maturation period in barrels to marry the blend further, giving added smoothness and mellowness.
