Description

Produced in Bardstown, Kentucky by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd. (KBD), which is also known as the Willett Distillery. The distillery was erected in 1936, only three years after prohibition was repealed, and they put their first barrel in the warehouse on St. Patrick's Day 1937. Beautiful layering of brandied cherry over a mildly tart cherry, with notes of cinnamon, baking spices, and a hint of oak. Also present are rye bread, caramel, cocoa, orange peel, cloves, dill, and floral, botanical scents.
Palate
A robust and spicy palate with dark cherry, burnt vanilla, and a weighty mouthfeel. Flavors include chocolate, crème brûlée, clove, dill, orange citrus, baking spice, sweet oak, grass, mint, anise, and cinnamon.
Finish
Long and lingering with dominant spices, cherry, caramel, and soft oak tannins. Notes of mint chocolate, toasted grain, black pepper, and herbal flavors are also present.
