- Light fruitiness with hints of apple and pear, subtle sweetness of toffee, and a hint of oak. Also notes of ripe apple, toasted cereal, vanilla, caramel, soft creamy barley, sultanas, sweet spices, butter, dusty oak, citrus peel, and sometimes a slight perfumed peat, caramel, honey, lemon, and tobacco.
- Palate
- Balanced harmony between sweet malt notes and soft, fruity accents. Smooth texture with a hint of spice and vanilla. Notes of sweet barley, stewed and spiced apple, chamois leather, spicy old leather, rum-soaked dried fruits (prunes, raisins, dates), toasted nut, bready note, cinnamon, oaky vanilla, caramel, and spiciness.
- Finish
- Pleasant, medium-length with satisfying warmth and a slight smoky undertone. Also notes of leather, pear, apple fruit with lingering red pepper corns and cinnamon spice, creamy, short and malty with a slight edge of pepper, or sometimes harsh with ashes and peaty notes.
