Wire Works Whisky from White Peak Distillery is Derbyshire's first full-scale craft distillery, with a proud focus on their Derbyshire heritage. This complex, approachable single malt whisky was commissioned in early 2018 with the first distillation taking place in April that year, and the first Wire Works Whisky was released in February 2022. The "Wire Works" name comes from the distillery's site, built on the former Johnson & Nephew wire works on the banks of the River Derwent. It is matured in a precise blend of first-fill ex-Bourbon and shaved, toasted and recharred (STR) casks, with a pronounced influence of American oak.
