Description

The Wolfburn Inaugural Release is the first single malt whisky from the new Wolfburn distillery, which reopened in 2013, nearly 150 years after the original distillery closed. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2016, this 3-year-old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon and Sherry casks, as well as ex-Islay Quarter Casks, imparting a trace of peat smoke. This limited edition of 875 individually numbered bottles was released at 46% ABV and presented in a wooden box.

Nose
Initially sweet with notes of fruit and fresh sea air. In the background you'll find citrus freshness and hints of cereal, and just a trace of peat smoke.
Palate
Sweet, nutty tones come to the fore, with hints of grapes and honey in the background. Floral flavours abound, enhanced with just a hint of coffee and dark chocolate. It is a lovely rounded whisky, which coats the palate to leave just a trace of peat.
Finish
Medium in length with a touch of spice, hints of tobacco and slightly dry.
