- Nose
- Vanilla and cinnamon dusted grilled pineapple slices and red plum fruit. Classic Woodford notes like cinnamon, oak, vanilla and chocolate, with a wave of fruit notes like cherries and assorted fruit jams. Wine notes lean towards fortified wines, with a nutty note like oxidized Tawny Port wine.
- Palate
- Vine and red fruit warmed with rich vanilla bean and oak notes. Fruit-centric with loads of grape juice, orange marmalade, cherry pie filling and sweet red wine. Traditional Woodford notes of chocolate, caramel and oak spice, with a return of nuttiness and a strange, oxidized taste. Very fruit forward with brown sugar, vanilla, dry Cabernet/sweet Pinot Noir, red grape, cherry, baking spice, and oak.
- Finish
- Long oak and red grape tannins. Turns dry with strong, fortified wine notes and an odd aftertaste. Typical bourbon notes and most fruit sweetness are gone, leaving nutty/Tawny flavors. Some rancio, mustiness, dried sour plums, prunes, mulled wine, grape gummies, earthy tones of leather, cloves, moss, and sweet oak.
