Description

Wood ford Reserve Master's Collection Very Fine Rare Bourbon is a limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the 16th release in the Master's Collection series. It is a blend that includes some of Woodford Reserve's oldest and most exceptional barrels, with liquid aged up to 17 years, and the youngest component being 11 years old. This 2020 release, bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV), was crafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. The name 'Very Fine Rare Bourbon' is a nod to historical descriptors used for highly-aged bourbon barrel lots.

Nose
Layers of rich oak sweet aromatic notes, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, vanilla merge into a cured tobacco character brightened with apple fruit. Hints of toasted oak, dried fruit, and a touch of spice, including cinnamon and clove.
Palate
Sweet toffee, butterscotch, and honey are complemented by notes of ripe fruit, such as apple and pear, rich oak, and a subtle smokiness. Very old oak notes sweetened with honey balanced by a touch of citrus and apple peel and a touch of clove spice.
Finish
Long and elegant, with lingering notes of vanilla, oak, and a gentle spice. A soft warmth remains on the palate, leaving a refined and memorable aftertaste. Raisin fruit and malty sweetness.
