The Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2012 Edition is a highly sought-after single malt Japanese whisky from Suntory's Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. This limited edition release was bottled in 2012 at 48% ABV and matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, imparting a rich and complex character. It is a no-age-statement expression, with the distillery focusing on the peak of the sherry cask influence rather than a specific age. The Sherry Cask series gained significant global attention when the 2013 edition was named 'World Whisky of the Year' in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2015.
