Description
Yamazakura Blended Whisky is produced by Sasanokawa Shuzo, a Japanese spirits company with a history dating back to 1765. The Asaka distillery, refurbished for whisky distillation in 2016, is where this blend is produced. This non-age statement whisky is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, with some sources indicating a composition of 20% malt and 80% grain, possibly including corn. It is aged in ex-bourbon barrels, resulting in a smooth and balanced profile. The name 'Yamazakura' combines 'Yama' (mountain) and 'Sakura' (cherry tree), reflecting its Japanese origin.
