Description

Pernod Ricard's share of the Scotch Whisky market is second only to Diageo's; a fact that is in no small part down to their acquisition of Aberlour distillery in 1974. Despite being unlucky enough to suffer two catastrophic fires (in 1879 and 1898), Aberlour has enjoyed stable production throughout most of its life, and under the current regime its popularity has exploded. This is especially true ... Aberlour White Oak 2008 is a Speyside single malt whisky from Scotland that balances classic regional elegance with a clear and focused personality. It presents itself with a clean profile where orchard fruit and gentle sweetness meet a restrained oak presence, offering a style that is recognisably Speyside while remaining approachable for both newcomers and experienced drinkers. This bottling was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2018, giving it an age of roughly ten years. It was matured in American white oak casks, specifically former Bourbon casks.

Nose
Aromatic entry is fresh and inviting, with green apple, pear, and faint lemon peel, layered alongside soft vanilla and a faint honeyed note.
Palate
Smooth and moderately weighty, with flavors that echo the nose and add gentle spice and malty grain. Caramel and toffee notes arrive in measured amounts and are supported by delicate oak tones and a touch of toasted almond.
Finish
Medium length with a warming tail that leaves behind echoes of dried fruit, baking spice, and a whisper of tannin.
