Description

Ardmore Traditional Cask is a peated Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, double matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and smaller Quarter Casks. This non-chill filtered expression, bottled at 46% ABV, offers a full and rich liquid with unique Highland peat smoke flavors. It was originally created to provide whisky for the Teacher's blend and was one of the first official single malt releases from the Ardmore distillery.

Nose
A honeyed, earthy, and outdoorsy nose with notes of dry leaf smoke, wet leaves, hay, and damp earth. Hints of candied ginger, raisin-y sweetness, orange juice, and dark toffee are present, along with toasted oak and a faint peat.
Palate
Spicy and sweet to start, with candied ginger, honeyed grain, and a creamy peat tang. Flavors of barley, cereal, rich bourbon, and vanilla spiced oak mingle with a balanced peat and smoke.
Finish
Sweet and long, with lingering peat, dry wood smoke, and a mouth-watering acidity. Notes of caramel, sugary barley, and a touch of oak dryness complete the experience.
