Nose
Rich and sweet sherry notes of sultanas, plump raisins, spiced sponge cake, candied orange peel, and crème brulee. Underlying notes of stewed apple, poached pear, sugared almonds, zesty lemon, and a hint of fino sherry dryness. Also brown sugars, chocolate, cacao, figs, dates, prunes, sticky toffee, and earthy gingerbread.
Palate
A silky, unctuous texture with flavors of walnut, figgy pudding, and wood spice. Rich fruitcake with stewed plums, raspberries, and raisins. Cinnamon and peppery spices, marzipan, and dark chocolate. Hints of orange, ginger, and red fruits like sangria.
Finish
Medium to long, with fading nuts and spices, lingering orange zest, creamy sherry, and dark chocolate. Some roasty notes, black pepper, and tar.
