Description

Machrie Moor is a heavily peated single malt produced at the Lochranza distillery on the Isle of Arran. This 'Fingal's Cut Sherry Cask Finish' edition was aged for around 8 years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before being finished for 6-12 months in Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered, and natural colour, and was produced exclusively for Lagg Distillery.

Wonderfully rich with raspberry, cherry, burnt caramel, charred oak, wisps of bonfire smoke, raisins, sultanas, maple syrup, earthy smoke, dark chocolate, candied oranges, crème brûlée, Bakewell tart, Dr.Pepper syrup, star anise, and redbush tea.

Sherry-led arrival with dried fruits, treacle notes, wintery spices, charcoal, bonfire smoke, sweet, cinnamon, dried orange, grapefruit, sticky toffee pudding, cherry cordial, oaky, dark pomegranate molasses, and sour notes.
Finish
Dry oak, sooty peat smoke, long-lasting, mouth-watering, medium length, sour, bitter, eucalyptus honey, balsamic, resinous, pungent, acrid peat, and warm sweet cereal.
