Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Freshly baked banana bread with undertones of honey and vanilla and just the faintest hint of cedar wood. Suggestions of roasted chestnuts and heavy cream. Marmalade on sourdough toast, grilled peaches and dried Mission figs. Sandalwood, faint eucalyptus and tiramisu.
Palate
Cinnamon and sauteed pears. Slightly mellow mid-palate with notes of toasty malt and some nuttiness. Ester-y with apple and orchard fruits. Brown sugar makes an appearance and transforms into molasses. Silky dense flavors of candied orange peel, blackberry jam, port wine reduction and stewed plums. Brown Sugar, Crème Brule, & Toasted Malt. Leather and Banana Pudding.
Finish
Warm, drying finish with a subtle, roasted hazelnut flavor. Woody spices and some breadiness. Lingering finish of varnish, black walnut and raspberry ganache. Sweetness pulls through with Cinnamon and a little more toasted malt. Medium to long finish.

There’s an appealing shift from banana bread, honey and heavy cream on the nose to fruit and toasted malt on the palate. The silky, dense combination of candied orange peel, blackberry jam and stewed plums gives the sweetness real presence, while cinnamon and malt keep it grounded. The warm, drying finish sounds like a useful counterpoint, with roasted hazelnut and woody spice rather than a purely sweet exit. That balance makes this an engaging, richly layered character, though it may feel quite sweet at its centre.

Pears and orchard fruit give it an easy centre, while candied orange peel and stewed plums add a richer edge. The mellow mid-palate sounds appealing; the warm, drying finish may make it less soft than the fruit first suggests.

At 53% ABV, this Texas single malt has a clear, substantial bottling strength, while its described palate stays rounded with mellow mid-palate notes. Banana bread, honey and vanilla lead toward cinnamon, pears and toasted malt, then darker fruit and molasses. I like that shift from orchard fruit to richer sweetness. The warm, drying finish keeps woody spice and toasted malt in view.
