Description

This Ben Nevis 2013 10 Year Old is an independent bottling by Decadent Drinks under their Whisky Sponge Edition No.85 label. Distilled in 2013, it was aged primarily in a refill butt before being finished for around six months in four refill quarter casks. This process was designed to expose the whisky to more air, round out the spirit, and gradually reduce the ABV to 52%, while preserving the characteristic Ben Nevis distillate. Only 327 bottles were produced.

Full-bodied aromas, delightful and refreshing, with notes of toasted almonds, coastal air, sea, and nuttiness.
Palate
Extremely rich and very balanced in flavour, with notes of almond, lemon peel, pepper, and a smoky but well-integrated charcoal character. Sweet peat, toasted nuts, and stewed fruit are also present.
Finish
Lingering, earthy-maritime, with notes of baked pear.
