Description

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched by George Urquhart back in the 1960s. This Benrinnes single malt was distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2016 at 46% ABV.

Nose
Honey'd malt with hints of sultana and choice mousse, a few touches of cinnamon. Delicate Sherry influences with red apple, subtle honey notes and charred oak aromas. Thick and well balanced with honey, toffee, sweet barley and cereal malt, vanilla, sweet mildly tart fruits dipped in caramel, sulfury malt, and a faint balanced spice.
Palate
Spicy at first (ginger and clove), with layers of blackcurrant and thyme honey. Tangerine flavours with rich ginger and chilli spices combining with a dark chocolate edge. Caramel, bright barley sugar and lots of honey, sweet syrupy cherry, strawberry, thick cereal malt, sweet vanilla.
Finish
Fruity esters with underlying Oloroso sweetness. Caramel, vanilla icing, barley sugar, honey malt, lightly sweet fruits, wonderful holiday spice.
