Nose
Red wine in profusion, acidic and pungent red fruits (currants, raspberries, sour cherries in syrup), cherry tart, custard, marshmallow, undercurrent of toffee, sugar paste and sulphurous notes.
Palate
Rather aggressive initially, alcoholic exuberance taming to reveal spice (cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg) on red fruit juice, sour sweetness, vegetal notes of rhubarb, tea leaves, liquorice root, hints of coffee candy, hazelnuts and custard.
Finish
Quite long and spicy, with red fruits, liquorice, vegetal and mineral notes, and red candy.
