Description
A storied distillery in the Sutherland area of Scotland, Brora closed in 1983 but developed a cult status for its high-quality single malt. This 1975 vintage was distilled eight years before the distillery's closure and released as part of the Rare Malts Selection, a historic series from United Distillers (later Diageo) featuring whiskies from operational and lost distilleries between 1995 and 2005. The distillery was eventually rebuilt by Diageo and reopened in 2021. This release is noted for its rich coastal character and dry peat smoke, offering a more elegant profile than earlier 1970s vintages.
