Description

This Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is an 8-year-old unpeated single malt, part of the Barley Exploration series, made entirely with barley grown on Islay from seven different farms. It was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV. The whisky was matured in a combination of 75% first-fill American oak barrels and 25% wine casks, including Ribera del Duero, Syrah, and Pauillac. It is noted for its clean, spirit-driven character with notes of fruit, malt, and coastal influence.

Barley sugar, light honey and vanilla, apples, peaches, pears, lemon zest, slight lactic notes, ozone/salinity, melted butter, sea shores, nectarine, floral sweetness, fresh and dense, fruity and malty, green banana, lemon tarts, flaky pastries, floral honeys, marzipan, ginger tea, pinch of sea salt, faint grassy and farmy notes, summer savory and sweet yoghurt.
