- Nose
- Creamy with a floral note, bread, light smoke, sourness, coffee, bittersweet chocolate. Initial hit of sour mash with light smoke, freshly baked crumpets with warm butter, vanilla, ash, fizziness, grapefruit zestiness, white pepper, nutmeg, fresh mint. Immediately intense and aromatic, charred sandalwood and cedarwood, dry earthy peat smoke (burning heather and dried kelp), sophisticated herbal quality (thyme and rosemary), balanced by redcurrant jam and dark chocolate.
- Palate
- Peat comes first, followed by sweetness, brandy, citrus peel. White pepper spice, sourness of lime juice and coriander, lemongrass, salted caramel, clean bonfire smoke, blackcurrants, overripe grapes. Sharp and spicy, peppery punch of clove, cinnamon, cracked black pepper from French Oak. Dense and chewy smoke (smoked brisket and wood ash). Drier mid-palate, revealing tannic red berries, espresso beans, and bitter cocoa.
- Finish
- Very dry, with smoke and spice lingering, bitter dryness. Medium length flavour-wise, but spice and smoke lingers on for quite a while. Long, warming, and exceptionally dry. Smoke lingers like a dying campfire, firm grip of oak tannins, final savory flash of sea salt and licorice.
