Description
For anyone visiting Caol Ila today, it might be hard to believe that it was once one of the smaller distilleries on Islay, with the Diageo workhorse now producing almost as much spirit as Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Bowmore and Laphroaig combined! Despite this, Caol Ila still isn't as globally recognisable as its Islay stable-mates, due to the majority of its production being used for blends, such as Johnnie Walker. This is a special bottling for the Fèis Ìle 2019 festival, hand-bottled by Distillery Manager Pierrick Guillaume from a refill American oak bourbon barrel, cask no. 9373. It is a limited edition of only 180 bottles.
