Description

A malt distillery that forms part of the extensive Diageo Scotch whisky holdings and is the Speyside representative of its Classic Malts range. Its traditional style is a lightly peated single malt that is also highly valued by its parent company for their various blends. This Cragganmore 25 Year Old Natural Cask Strength was released in 2014 as part of the highly-collectible Diageo Special Releases, distilled in 1988 and matured in refill American and European oak casks.

Nose
Astonishingly full, complex and vibrant. Dried figs and raisins, with a hint of smoke. Rich, sweet malt, with candied sugar. Floral notes, bread crust, old wooden floor and a hint of ginger. With water, butterscotch, honey & sugar more intense.
Palate
Dry, complex. Smooth, mouth-filling. Cooling, with a salty, savoury edge. Now a famous, warming sweetness. With water, a little more spice, with a hint of black cherry. Good with water.
Finish
Medium-length. Elegant, silky and rich spices. Hints of fruit, nuts, savoury smoke and caramelised cedar wood.
