Nose
Dark caramel, raisins, boozy cherries, honey, baking spices, ginger, fruitcake, good oak, hazelnuts, and a wisp of smoke. Also notes of Cheddar cheese rind, old Madeira, walnuts, light butterscotch, old oranges, candied peel, sandalwood, and light toffee.
Palate
Rich flavors of dark toffee, fudge, treacle sweetness, raisin, sultana fruitiness, orange peel, cinnamon, ginger spices, tobacco leaf, and hazelnut tang. Full, sweet, warming, with citric freshness, Highland toffee, plums, chocolate, blood oranges, pepper, and buttery shortbread.
Finish
Orangey notes, cinnamon, ginger spices, grapefruit-style bittersweet touch, marzipan almond sweetness and nuttiness. Warming, light nutty aftertaste, medium length, sweet and juicy, with active oak, almonds, oily, and a hint of lingering oak.
