Nose
Aromas of dried fruits, subtle vanilla, a touch of spice, and distinct smokiness, with earthy notes, musty wet forest soil, orange, and malt. Orange peel and pepper.
Palate
Rich flavours of dark chocolate, dried apricots, ripe plums, balanced with notes of charred oak and vanilla. A smoky undertone carries throughout, with slightly fruity, strong licorice, burning wood fire, peat smoke, herbs, and sweet, cerealy, almost bourbon-like notes of caramel and bitter orange. Peaty, smoky, with an Islay earthiness influence, maritime, coastal edge, some toffee, and sweetness.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering smoky notes and a hint of spice. Mild, short, malty with charcoal and some caramel. Not sharp or bitter, with a touch of chocolate and lingering smoke.
