Description

Glen Garioch distillery was founded in 1797 by John Manson, making it amongst the oldest distilleries in Scotland. It is known for its heavy, thick, cereal and spicy notes, which are attributed to its short fermentation period. This 1986 vintage single cask release was matured for 26 years and bottled in 2012. It represents an old-style Glen Garioch from an era when the distillery peated its own malt, a practice discontinued when the distillery reopened in 1997.
