Description

A new and exciting UK Exclusive from GlenAllachie distillery, released as part of their Wood Collection series. Matured for 12 years in total with initial aging in American oak Bourbon barrels before an additional two years of maturation in Sauternes sweet wine barriques. These medium toasted French oak casks have imparted luscious notes of ripe peach, caramel sauce and stem ginger on GlenAllachie's honey-forward spirit. Sauternes dessert wine is made in the Bordeaux region of France, with the grapes going through a fascinating process called Botrytis cinerea, aka noble rot, which dehydrates the grapes and concentrates the sugars within. Bottled at 48% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered.
