A Highland malt distillery located in Dumgoyne, a small village to the north of Glasgow. For over a century it was synonymous with the blenders, Lang Brothers, however it was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003 and has been transformed into a highly-regarded single malt brand.

teacupkit16 FebThe candied lemon and citrus give the nose a bright, appealing thread, with anise, toasted almonds, cinnamon and caramel adding welcome detail. The licorice and mint on the palate sound intriguing, but the reported heat is a real drawback. A finish that falls flat quickly also leaves little room for those flavours to linger. Promising aromatically, but less convincing in its follow-through.
