Description

Glengoyne's tribute to the daily dram that the Distillery folk enjoyed three times each day from the copper teapot in the distillery canteen. Exclusive to the Distillery and presented at full warehouse strength, this is a unique vatting of 5 young 1st fill sherry casks. Up until the early 1980s Glengoyne's men were given three large drams of cask strength Glengoyne a day - breakfast, lunch and aft. Nose
Sweet with rum raisin, caramel, spices, cherry liqueur, strawberry jam, bananas, vanilla, fresh figs, star anise, cinnamon, polished exotic wood, chocolate, toffee, banana, coconut, dry Oloroso, crushed walnuts, fresh herbs, mint, anise seed, fruit cake with glazed cherries, toasted and fleshy coconut, nutty Moroccan baklawa.
Palate
Syrupy, very sweet, thick taste, dark chocolate, rum raisin, cherry syrup, sherry notes, rich, spicy oak, cinnamon swirl, walnuts, treacle, tobacco, liquorice, sweet plum spirit, salted caramel, toffee, orange zest, marzipan.
Finish
Long and oily, strong chocolate flavour, lingering raisins, dry and spicy, cinnamon powder, lingering dried fruits, oak gives way to pepper, fresh pears, drying and woody with intensifying notes of Oloroso, wood varnish and tannins.
