Description

The Glenlivet 40 Year Old is the distillery's oldest permanent expression to date, representing more than four decades of dedication and craftsmanship. This exceptional single malt Scotch whisky is matured in predominantly American oak and ex-sherry oak casks, and finished in bespoke sherry casks seasoned with a unique blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry from Jerez, Spain. It is presented in an elongated bottle inspired by The Glenlivet's original 200-year-old glass silhouette, housed inside a sleek and elegant copper-coloured presentation container.

Rich and fruity with notes of homemade strawberry jam, raisins, luscious dark cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of sweet toasted oak. Deep aromas of dried apricot, fig, sultana, polished oak, honey, and gentle floral undertones.
Palate
Smooth and velvety with sweet layers of poached plums, charred orange, dark chocolate, braised red apples, sweet liquorice, candied orange, toasted almond, spiced vanilla, and dried cranberries with soft cinnamon spices.
Finish
Long, sweet, rich, and warming with lingering flavors of fruitcake, leather, aged oak sweetness, and spice.
