Nose
Plenty of sherry on the initial nose, alongside coffee and walnut cake, muscovado sugar and linseed oil. A few drops of water reveal a slight earthiness, more oily notes and a hint of grapes.
Palate
Mouth coating peppery textures is followed by the richness of brown sugar, raisins and dates alongside notes of walnut, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Creamy fudge and toffee follow on, then an intense surge of old-fashioned boiled sweets, flavoured with aniseed and cinnamon.
Finish
Deep and rich, with hints of cocoa powder, chocolate truffles and subtle cigar smoke.
