Description

The Highland Park 1968 vintage, part of the Orcadian Vintage series, is a 40-year-old single malt whisky bottled in 2008. It was created from a vatting of eight refill casks, specifically seven hogsheads and one sherry butt, selected by Whisky Maker Max McFarlane for their exceptional character. This extended maturation allowed the delicate fragrance of the new make spirit to shine through without being overpowered by woody notes, while still being imbued with Highland Park's signature smoky peat.

A remarkable balance of soft, integrated smoky peat and rich, sherried sweetness. Prominent dried fruits (raisins, prunes, orange zest), honey, toffee, subtle vanilla, almond, and oak spice, with a gentle maltiness.
Finish
Long, warm, and satisfying, with lingering smokiness, dried fruits, honey, evolving light oakiness, spice, woodiness, and a dry, clean aftertaste of refined elegance.
