Nose
dust and ozone, and plenty of dried floral sachets – the sort with sage leaves, pinecones and lavender. Something sourly floral like tobacco blossoms. Also hot glass, the minty-medicinal tang of jujubes and perhaps the juice of green apples.
Palate
The palate tends to heat with a chili seed bite on the tongue. Flints and a thin mineral character. Overall a rather lean whisky with an austerity that seems to have been tempered but not softened by age.
Finish
medium, still fruity with a hint of caramel and oak.
