Description
A Japanese single malt whisky from the now-defunct Hanyu distillery, bottled by Ichiro's Malt as part of its highly collectible Card Series. Distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2008, this 17-year-old whisky was initially matured in a hogshead before being finished in a Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butt. The Hanyu distillery ceased distillation in 2000, and its remaining stock was acquired by Ichiro Akuto, who then released these whiskies under the Ichiro's Malt brand. This particular release, the 'Eight of Hearts', is a single cask bottling (Cask #9003) and was limited to 617 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 56.8% ABV.
