Description

Kavalan Distillery, established in 2005 in Taiwan, is renowned for its rapid whisky maturation due to the hot and humid climate. The Solist series represents their higher-end, single cask whiskies. This Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry Cask is matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration or added coloring. It has received multiple awards, including Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Rich sherry, dried fruits (raisins, figs, prunes, cherries), molasses, dark chocolate, nuts, vanilla, and spices. Some notes of old oak, treacle, and a floral fragrance.
Palate
Full-bodied and rich with intense sherry sweetness, dark fruits (plums, blackcurrants, cherries), Christmas cake, candied orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and spices. Oily texture with hints of coffee, cocoa, and sometimes a slight dryness or peppery note.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering dried fruits, dark cocoa, spices, oak, and sherry tannins. Can be sweet and dessert-like, or have a dry, spicy character.
