Description

Kavalan is the first private whisky distillery in Taiwan. It was founded in 2005 and its single malt has already won several awards, including Jim Murray's 'New Whisky of the Year' and 'World's Best Single Malt Whisky' at the World Whiskies Award. A rich fusion of vanilla and caramelized sugars with dark chocolate, ripe melon, mango, kiwi, citrus fruits, and pepper. Notes of mahogany wood, dusty black pepper, tart cherries, stewed plums, salted dried plum, grapes, berries, floral honey, and sweet herbal notes are also present.
Palate
Clean and complex with flavors of cherry wood, dates, nutty caramel, sweet spices, dark rum, cognac, brown sugar, vanilla, dark fruit, apricots, and herbs.
Finish
Long and sweet with red wine tannins, sweet spiced tea, drying wood, white grapes, chocolate, caramel ice cream, and a touch of anise.
