Description

The Kilchoman Feis Ile 2021 is a limited release Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Islay-based Kilchoman Distillery. It is a vatting of eight 100% Islay casks, specifically two 2011 Oloroso sherry butts and six 2012 bourbon barrels. This 'Single Farm Single Malt' was distilled from Optic and Publican barley varieties harvested at Kilchoman in 2010 and 2011, and matured in onsite dunnage warehouses before being bottled at cask strength of 56.3% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.

Nose
A gentle, slightly earthy, peat smoke with a liquorice edge, barley sugared sweetness, vanilla, lemon and orange citrus, oak spice and sultana fruit. Fresh citrus and Swedish berries are also present.
Palate
Delicious earthy peat with bold sugars, zesty lemon citrus, vanilla, butterscotch, oak spice and sultana fruitiness. Creamy vanilla, red licorice, and maritime salt are also noted.
Finish
Deliciously long, with sherry becoming more prominent, sugars and peat clinging to the palate before fading to leave lingering oak spice and liquorice. Lingering plum notes.
