Launched in late 2017, this limited edition Kilchoman Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 2012 and fully matured for 5 years in red wine casks sourced from Portugal's Douro Valley. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has natural colour, with approximately 7,000 bottles released worldwide. The expression is noted for its depth, body, and cooked fruit layers complementing Kilchoman's classic sweet citrus and peat smoke character.

Nose
Layers of juicy red berries and milk chocolate, with a hearty backbone of earthy smoke. Sweet and fruity with cherries, strawberries, raspberries, lemon curd, and a hint of smoke. Dark, woody, spicy, with floral smoke and pear.
Palate
Cinnamon, poached pear, a salty tang of peat, strawberries and Nutella. Rich stewed black and red fruits with earthy yet sweet peat smoke. Oily, heavy peat, stuffy smoke, tart berries, spices, and medicinal roots. Thick and oily mouthfeel with fruit and wine complexity, eucalyptus, menthol, black tea, caramel, and berries.
Finish
Quite long, with a pronounced fruit sweetness. Black grape and stewed rhubarb with aromatic spice and earthy smoke. Lingering fruitiness with green herbal woody notes, ginger, vanilla, and a cinnamon aftertaste. Medium finish with peat smoke, earthy flavors, blackberries, leather, black tea, spice, and sea salt.
