Description

Established in 2009, Kingsbarns is one of Scotland's newer distilleries. Former golf caddie Douglas Clement initially tried to raise funds himself but the project was eventually bought out by Wemyss Distillery Ltd enabling the distillery, along with a visitor centre, to be opened in late 2014. This Kingsbarns 2016 Founders' Reserve is the second release in a series of five exclusive Founders' Reserve bottlings for Kingsbarns Founders' Club members. It was distilled in 2016 and matured in first fill STR casks (Portuguese red wine barriques) before being bottled in 2019 at cask strength and is free from chill filtration. Only 3,000 bottles were produced.
