Nose
Fantastic peat, tar, seashore, maritime notes, smoke, a bit electrical. Vanilla, slight fruit, smoked (dry) sausage, dried out onions and pear. Dense vanilla, toasted note, light brine, dried fruits like raisins.
Palate
Chewy, licorice, black and white powder, thick sweet Sherry without most of its sweetness. Oily, iodine, peaty, ashy, minerals, dark honey, good sweetness, tobacco, herbs, black tea, vanilla, caramel, sherry, hint of leather. Rich bitter chocolate, molasses, fig, underripe plum. Salt kicks up a notch. Meaty peat smoke, balanced by bold rich sweetness and dried fruits.
Finish
Medium long, warm, caramel, herbs, sherry, leather. Incredibly long, even for Islay. Fruit, peat, and long-lasting oak.
