Nose
Extremely sooty and earthy, farmy, with hay, grass, garden bonfire, wet paint, wool, wet dogs, tallow, marrow, and ink. Also peat, saltiness, medicinal notes, brine, iodine, seaweed, and smokey bacon. Peat and oak, barley and sea salt.
Palate
Astringency, teas, soot, ashes, coal, liquorice, earth, camphor, grape pips oil. Body is a little thin, increasing dryness. Big, butch, full-bodied, mouth-coating and thick. Sharp saltiness, Laphroaig peat and smoke. Oak dominant, then salt, then milky barley.
Finish
A bit short, cardboardy, with nice touches of grapefruit. Classic seaweed, with a hint of citrus.
