Description

Laphroaig 27 Year Old was aged in refill hogsheads before being double-matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and refill quarter casks. All of it was aged in Warehouse No.1, the maturation hall closest to the ocean, with waves rearing up just below the distillery's white washed walls - hence, a few tasters report extra maritime lift in the whisky. This fall 2017 limited edition release from Laphroaig first matured in refill hogsheads. Then some whisky spent time in refill quarter casks while the remainder aged in first-fill bourbon barrels.
