Description

Laphroaig was founded in 1815 on the south coast of Islay. This exceptional 20 year old Laphroaig Double Cask is a limited edition that was exclusively hand selected by Laphroaig Distillery Manager, John Campbell and Philippe Lanusse of Buy Paris Duty Free. It was matured for 18 years in hogshead casks (American oak/bourbon hogsheads) and then spent a further two years in Quarter Casks. This maturation process maximizes the intensity of the unique peat smoke notes and imparts intense fruity notes, resulting in a smooth, beautifully balanced yet powerful expression with a particularly long and smoky finish. The edition consisted of 750 bottles and was released in 2010.
