Nose
Fruits, mint, and sweet peat with a dark red fruity base, plums, raisins, and a liqueur coating. Mildly burnt oakiness, medicinal notes, and spiciness. Gentle smoke, nutty malt, smoked meats, cheeses, sweet wine, and toasted caramel.
Palate
Ripe fruitiness, lemon freshness, building spiciness, minty overlay, and emerging peatiness. Coffee notes, liqueur-soaked dark fruits, slight oakiness, and a dessert-like quality. Rich dark chocolate, chimney soot, dried cranberries, and granita biscuits. Heavy red wine notes, rich, and a day-old gateaux character.
Finish
Spiciness spreads, dark fruits, lemon, coconut, coffee, and dark chocolate. Bittersweet, fruity dark chocolate, lingering earthy peat, and pepper warmth. Less fishy notes returning.
