Description

Signatory was founded by Andrew Symington in 1999. After discovering single cask single malt whisky while managing Prestonfield House Hotel, Andrew bought his first cask, a Glenlivet 1968, and is now one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. As of 2002, Signatory Vintage Whisky company became the owner of the Edradour distillery in Perthshire. This Linkwood was matured in a Sherry Butt. [cite: Scotch Whisky Auctions]

Nose
Marzipan, delicate. Raisins and vanilla fudge. Soft spice and sweetness. Red wine gums. Juicy fruit, syrupy, a bit waxy, notes of maple syrup and spice (clove, mint). Fresh, light cream, apple skins, lemon ice cream, grapefruit, dried flowers.
Palate
Flaming grape juice, raisins on scolding porridge. Highland toffee. Thick honey, mint and vanilla, with chewy fudge. Dart of edgy spice. Coating viscosity. Fruity, naked, flavourful. Creamy lemon, lemon & grapefruit oils, fresh and vibrant. Apple cider vinegar, hints of fresh ginger and white pepper. Dried peaches.
Finish
Relatively short. Mineral. Zestier, more taut with water, on lemon juice and wet rocks.
